A knee replacement may be recommended if you are suffering from knee pain and treatments suggested by your doctor have not relieved the pain.
Unicompartmental knee replacement
Arthritis of your knee usually happens without a known cause. It can sometimes affect only part of your knee. If you have severe pain, stiffness and disability, a partial knee replacement should reduce your pain and help you to walk more easily.
Revision total knee replacement
If your original knee replacement fails, you can usually have another operation to do your knee replacement again. If this revision operation is successful, you should be able to continue many of your normal activities.
