The OCD? Not Me! program is a online treatment program for young people aged 12-18 with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Children under 12 are welcome to complete the program but encouraged to do so with the support of a parent/caregiver. It has been developed by researchers from Curtin University and is based on face-to-face treatment for OCD.
The OCD? Not Me! program involves eight stages, designed to be undertaken over eight weeks, and provides young people with information, tips, activities, and support to help them to overcome the symptoms of OCD.
The program also provides support for parents and caregivers, with weekly information and tips to help them manage their child’s OCD and support them through the program.
Young people and their parents can use the online Treatment Provider Database on the OCD? Not Me! website to search for alternative psychological services in their area.
The OCD? Not Me! program has been evaluated by Curtin University researchers and found to be effective for the target age range of 12-18 year olds, and those under 12 when completed with the support of a parent/caregiver. There are options to complete the program with or without the support of a therapist, and guidance for therapists is provided free-of-charge in how to support their clients to work through the program.
