Reason: Pfizer Australia has been made aware that in one instance, Lignocaine 1% 50mg in 5mL ampoules were found inside of a box of Heparin 5000 IU in 5mL ampoules. Pfizer believes this to be an isolated case involving one Community Pharmacy in NSW.

What it is used for

For local anaesthesia and lubrication of the urethra prior to catheterisation, exploration by sound and other endourethral operations and examinations, cystoscopy and symptomatic treatment of painful cystitis and urethritis.
