What this medicine is used for

(ARTG)

Teicoplanin is indicated for the treatment of the following infections due to staphylococci or streptococci, which cannot be treated satisfactorily with less toxic agents, including B-lactam antibiotics: - Bone - osteomyelitis; Joints - septic arthritis; Blood - non-cardiac bacteraemia, septicaemia.

How to use this medicine

This medicine is a pack that contains more than one component.

  • Injection, diluent for
  • Intramuscular
  • Clear colourless liquid.

Component :

  • Injection, powder for
  • Intravenous
  • Sterile, pyrogen-free ivory white powder for reconstitution with water for injections. It is freely soluble in water and on reconstitution gives a clear solution.

Storage conditions

  • Store below 30 degrees Celsius
  • Shelf lifetime is 24 Months.
