Manifold Place Community Health Centre

Council's Environmental Health Officers are responsible for queries and complaints regarding food, noise or pollution in Pyrenees Shire including food safety programs, food samples, premises auditing, head lice inspection, immunisation programs, septic tank permits.

The Environmental Health Officer also conducts investigations into infectious disease notifications within the shire, monitoring the situation and reporting to the appropriate authorities.

Ballarat Community Health - Lucas

A six week course for people with memory problems that are largely stable (such as following a stroke, head injury, or associated with MS).  Clients with anxiety related memory problems may also benefit.  The course is not suitable for clients with Alzheimer's Disease.

The course focuses on practical strategies to assist with memory.
The Memory Group is held in the Peter Heinz Centre, Queen Elizabeth Centre, Ascot St South, Ballarat.

Warrnambool Community Health

The Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer provides cultural support and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients across all inpatient and outpateint services at Werribee Mercy Hospital. Services for patients and families include: * providing emotional, social and cultural support
* attending appointments with patients when requested * linking patients with appropriate external services
* working closely with hospital staff to ensure that Aboriginal patients have a voice in their care
AHLOs also provide information, education and consultation to hospital staff regarding culturally appropriate care.
