Life saving treatment can be initiated by ambulance officers before transport to hospital.

Modbury Hospital

The Emergency Department provides health care to approximately 3,500 people of all ages each month who have life threatening or non life threatening emergencies. Though the Emergency Department treats everyone equally, patients with private health insurance can choose to be admitted as a private patient within the hospital. Those patients may also choose to be transferred to a private hospital. If an ambulance is used, this is at the patient's own expense. 

Lyell McEwin Hospital

The private Emergency Service has been established to provide assessment of patients with acute medical and surgical conditions who require an acute injury service, have a local doctor or specialist referral or have been a recent inpatient at the hospital only.

St Andrew's Hospital

When you first arrive, a Triage Nurse will initially assess your child's condition. All children are treated according to their medical urgency. Our first priority is to treat children with life or limb threatening illness or injuries, and these patients are attended to immediately.

Once you have spoken to the Triage Nurse you will be asked to see the Receptionist to confirm name, address and your general practitioner.

On arrival to the Emergency Service, you will see a specialist emergency triage nurse to assess and determine the severity of your medical condition. This enables life-threatening conditions to be seen as an absolute high priority. The Ashford Emergency Service is predominantly an Adult Emergency Service to treat people who present for medical assistance. 

Ashford Hospital

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital ED is open 24- hours a day. When you arrive at the ED you will be seen by a senior nurse to collect information and assess your illness or injury. After seeing the triage nurse, you may be asked to wait in the waiting room. ED provides service to Adults and obstetrics.
