The SUMITT program was established to meet the needs of people aged 16-64 experiencing comorbidity of substance use and serious mental illness.  The program home base is located at DASWest with satellite services established in all Area Mental Health Services located in the North West of Victoria, including four regional services: Ballarat Health, Barwon Health, Goulburn Valley Health and South West Health Care.

The program is a specialist service which aims to provide a clinical service and a training and education program for clinical workers.  Clients are referred directly to clinical workers located in the Area Mental Health Services, DASWest and Moreland Hall.
