13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) is a confidential phone service that provides health advice to Queenslanders. Callers can talk to a registered nurse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for the cost of a local call.

When should I call 13 HEALTH?

Call 13 HEALTH whenever you need health advice over the phone. This includes general health information, as well as advice on any symptoms you or someone you're caring for is experiencing.

A registered nurse will ask you questions about the symptoms, and recommend what to do.

Child health nurses are available from 6:30am to 11pm every day for child health advice and breastfeeding support.

13 HEALTH can also provide referrals to other healthcare providers if needed.

What should I do in an emergency?

13 HEALTH is for non-emergency health advice only. If you think your situation is an emergency, call triple zero (000) or go to a hospital emergency department.

Will my call be private?

All calls to 13 HEALTH are recorded as confidential medical records.

Only staff within 13 HEALTH can access this information for safety and quality assurance purposes, and for staff training.

You don't need to give your name, but you will need to provide your sex and age to have your symptoms assessed.

How can I access 13 HEALTH?

13 HEALTH is only available in Queensland.

If you're in Queensland and can't connect to 13 HEALTH, try dialling 13 HEAL (13 43 25). If you still can't connect, contact your service provider or try another mobile phone.

If English is not your main language and you need an interpreter, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask to be transferred to 13 HEALTH.

The National Relay Service is available to assist callers who are hearing or speech impaired.
