Can I go to entertainment or cultural venues in Victoria?

Updated on 13 January 2022, at 11:11 AET

Victoria’s COVIDSafe settings

If you are fully vaccinated, have a valid medical exemption or you are under the age of 12 and 2 months, you can visit:

  • entertainment venues, such as cinemas and zoos
  • community premises, such as a library
  • arts and cultural premises, such as galleries and museums
  • nightlife venues, such as bars and nightclubs
  • events, such as festivals, fun runs and conferences
  • tourism venues, such as walking tours and buses
  • casinos, gaming venues and adult entertainment venues

If you don’t meet the vaccination requirements, you can’t attend these venues or events.

Vaccination requirements don’t apply if you’re getting takeaway from a food and drink venue.

Community facilities can host essential public support groups, support services and health services in limited numbers if attendees' vaccination status isn't checked.

People aged under 18 you are considered fully vaccinated and no longer need to show proof of their vaccination status at hospitality venues.

Entertainment venues, including arcades and amusement parks, casinos and gaming venues, across Victoria, can have no more than 1 person per 2 square metres.

Indoor dancefloors within hospitality and entertainment venues must close, although the venue itself can remain open. This restriction doesn’t apply to weddings.

Record keeping for contact tracing

To support contact tracing, all venues must ask visitors and staff who are on the premises to check in using the free Service Victoria QR Code app. For details, visit coronavirus.vic.gov.au/checking-in-qr-codes.

For more information on Victoria's restrictions, visit coronavirus.vic.gov.au or call the Victorian Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398. International, interstate and mobile callers can phone +61 3 9096 9000.
