Cafes, restaurants and pubs – South Australia

Level 1 Restrictions

South Australia is under Level 1 restrictions:

  • You can consume food and drinks while seated — both indoors and outdoors.
  • Communal dining isn't allowed.
  • Capacity is limited to 3 people per 4 square metres for seated activities.
  • Capacity is limited to 1 person per 2 square metres for non-seated activities.
  • Shisha is banned.
  • COVID marshals and contact tracing are required.
  • Dancing is allowed at a private activity at an unlicensed premises and at a dance studio with a liquor licence if no service of alcohol takes place in the premises.
  • Dancing is not allowed at a nightclub or relevant licensed premises except by members of the bridal party at a wedding ceremony or reception.
  • Singing is allowed but when a person is singing indoors, the audience must wear a mask. Exceptions apply. See
