All referrals are received through Central Intake via secure messaging (Connecting Care). A fee of $9.90 applies for Health Care Card holders. Other fee options are available. Community Midwives help women look after themselves and the health of their baby. Midwifes give mothers and fathers information about pregnancy and help them to prepare for birth. They also visit the family home after birth to check on the baby's health and give breastfeeding support to the mother.
