 Wallaroo hospital is a 21 bed complex. We offer inpatient care in general medicine for adults and children, Rehabilitation, general surgery, chemotherapy and palliative care.

Wallaroo Hospital

The Port Broughton District Hospital is a 20-bed hospital with 24-hour accident and emergency department serviced by two doctors on a call roster. We undertake some booked minor procedures and basic radiology. The hospital also offers a nursing service, day centre and Meals on Wheels. Our community health services include health promotion activities, education and support groups, home nursing and HACC services. Visiting allied services include physiotherapy, podiatry, mental health and an eye bus.

Port Broughton District Hospital And Health Services

Maitland Hospital and Health Service is part of the Yorke and Lower North Health Services.

The hospital is a 32 bed complex, with 16 beds for people receiving active medical treatment, 4 renal dialysis chairs and 12 aged care beds. 

Inpatient care in general medicine for adults and children, as well as palliative care is available.  Community Nursing and Allied Health services are available at the site via the Country Referral Unit on freecall referral 1800 003 307.

Maitland Hospital

Cnr South Terrace East and Railway Terrace East. Snowtown Hospital and Health Services is part of the Yorke and Lower North Health Services. Our hospital is a 31 bed complex, with three beds for people receiving active medical treatment and 28 aged care beds. We have inpatient care in general medicine for adults and children, as well as palliative care. Communty Nursing and Allied Health are also available via Healthlink Telephone 1800 003 307.

Snowtown Hospital

This 20-bed hospital provides acute and aged care. We serve the District Council area of Franklin Harbour, and the surrounding rural community. There is a 10-room hostel for people with a low level of needs for care adjoining the main hospital.

Cowell District Hospital and Aged Care

Balaklava Hospital and Health Service is part of the Yorke and Lower North Health Services. Our hospital is a 44 bed complex with 22 beds for people receiving active medical treatment and 22 aged care beds. Community Nursing and Allied Health services are via Healthlink referral at telephone 1800 003 307. Visiting specialists include an orthopaedic surgeon, plastic surgeon, ophthalmologist and cardiologist.

Balaklava Soldiers' Memorial District Hospital

The Crystal Brook and District Hospital is part of the Southern Flinders Health Services. Ours campus includes a hospital that provides accident and emergency, outpatient, x-ray and operating theatre services, as well as primary health care. Ours was the first country hospital in SA to be accredited as 'baby friendly' by the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative Australia.

Crystal Brook Hospital

Port Pirie Hospital and Regional Health Service has 95 beds available for people with an acute medical condition, adults and children, surgical, obstetric, palliative care and care for people over 75 years of age. Our hospital offers a high dependency unit and some private rooms. The Community and Allied Health Service Division based onsite provides allied health services, primary health care services and health promotion to the Port Pirie Community and the Mid North Region.

The Whyalla Hospital is a designated General Hospital which provides emergency services, general medical, midwifery services, surgical services including day surgery, high dependency, children's health unit, palliative care, rehabilitation, renal dialysis and mental health services. Integrated teams provide services in community health, community mental health, domiciliary care, palliative care and allied health (including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology)
