Southern Fleurieu Health Service

The Renal Unit at Flinders Medical Centre is responsible for the diagnosis and management of all renal medical conditions, hypertension and electrolyte disorders. The Unit provides onsite acute and chronic dialysis, satellite and a home dialysis service. Renal biopsies are also performed through the Unit as a means to detect kidney problems. Follow up for patients who have had a kidney transplant is also provided.

It is open six days a week and provides dialysis services for 40 patients, total of 120 treatments a week. It employs renal trained nursing staff and Allied Health staff.
