Platinum Physio - Windsor

SunSmart has grown to become an internationally recognised skin cancer prevention program.
First launched by a cartoon seagull singing 'Slip! Slop! Slap!' on our TV screens in 1980, SunSmart adopted its name and mission in 1988. An initiative of The Cancer Council Victoria and supported by the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation, SunSmart was developed to combat spiralling skin cancer incidence and mortality rates. 

SunSmart continues to promote safe sun habits even today. Through its Sponsorships, Schools and Communities programs it highlights the importance of sun protection, especially to hard-to-reach groups like young adults, multicultural audiences and outdoor workers.

The Cancer Council Victoria

Living With Cancer Education Program is a free program that gives people with cancer and their friends and family the opportunity to learn more about cancer, its treatment and their emotional reactions to it. 
It allows them to understand why they might be having communication difficulties with each other and with health care workers and how a cancer diagnosis can affect relationships and self esteem.

The programs are held in most Melbourne hospitals, both public and private, some community health centres and also in many country hospitals and health services. There are nearly eighty organisations around Victoria now running this program. If you would like to attend a Living With Cancer Education Program, please ask for a referral at your hospital or place of treatment or phone the Cancer Information and Support Service on 13 11 20. The programs are free. w
