The Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) specifically caters for children and adolescents who, as a result of injury, medical/surgical intervention, or functional impairment, will benefit from a program of developmentally appropriate, time-limited, goal-focused interdisciplinary rehabilitation.

Patients attend Goulburn Valley Health where telehealth clinic is held with rehabilitation physicians based at RCH.

Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service

Speech Pathology provides assessment and intervention for referred patients with communication and/or swallowing disorders. A variety of service delivery methods are used in patient management, including individual, group and consultative models.

Referral Process:
Referrals are accepted from doctors, nurses or other allied health staff.

Provides assessment, intensive therapy (individual or group) or management of conditions, cognitive-communication therapy, swallowing, voice therapy, stuttering, alternative-augmentative communication, videofluoroscopy swallowing study, and carer or staff training on swallowing or communication strategies.
