Alternate Mondays. We provide assessment and management of: voice disorders in both children and adults, including voice disorders associated with Parkinson's Disease, late talkers and early literacy problems, articulation and phonological disorders in children, stuttering in both adults and children, speech and language skills in both adult and children, accent modification, and acquired swallowing difficulty.

The Shepherd Centre is a registered children's charity that helps children with hearing loss learn to listen and speak;

Our Early Intervention Program encompasses a range of services delivered by a team of paediatric specialists in audiology, speech pathology and child and family counselling aimed to give each child the best possible start in life;

We offer six locations across NSW and the ACT plus region outreach, videoconference and online programs.

At Chris O'Brien Lifehouse the Speech Pathology service offers:

Assessment, diagnosis and treatment for problems with communication and swallowing problems
Specialised assessment and management of swallowing problems using Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES).
Education and counselling to family and carers to facilitate partnerships in care for individuals
Provides training and support to other members of the care team, the individual and caregivers
Work with people who have a tracheostomy – to support communication and promote safe swallowing
Work with people who are going to have or have had a laryngectomy – to optimise communication, swallowing and breathing
Liaise with external providers as needed

Our Speech Pathologists work across all age groups to support clients who have impairments related to speech, language, social communication difficulties, literacy, voice, fluency and swallowing difficulties. We offer a range of assessments and therapy including communication technology.

National 360

Speech Pathology services include assessment and intervention for children with communication impairment and feeding difficulties, and their families. This includes children with difficulties in receptive language, expressive language, speech, voice, stuttering, mild feeding difficulties, mild Autism Spectrum Disorder and mild developmental delay or disability.
