Bosom Buddies provides individual support to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.  We have dedicated breast care nurses and  provides workshops, information, advocacy and ongoing support through social activities and raising awareness of breast cancer in the Canberra community. Bosom Buddies ACT

Providing support and assistance by direct telephone contact or by attendance at the Groups's monthly meetings where men with prostate cancer and their families are warmly welcomed.

The meetings provide an opportunity to meet men who have experienced the disease. Talking with survivors gives confidence to face the treatments; it also provides reassurance, strength, hope and courage for the future. 

*Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month (except in December) commencing at 7.00 pm.

The Cancer Council ACT Wig Service sells a range of wigs and other headwear at a minimal cost for people who lose their hair through cancer treatment.
Appointments are required.

Every first Sunday of the month there is a come and try session available for women to meet our coordinators and team.  For further enquiries please call the number provided or email.

Dragons Abreast ACT

If you are living with Breast Cancer then there is a silver lining! You can join in the fun and paddle with us. Most teams have regular introductory paddle sessions, so you can come and try it and see if dragon boating is for you. It's a great way to regain your fitness at your own pace and in a friendly, supportive environment. We paddle to demonstrate there is quality of life despite a breast cancer diagnosis. By being part of the team we help each other regain that sense of wellness, self-confidence and control in our lives. Although physically demanding, being involved in a dragon boat creates a new state of awareness. It is exhilarating and lots of fun. Supports young people who are 12 - 24 years and are:
- Patients - They have cancer themselves
- Siblings - Their Brother or Sister has cancer
- Offspring - Their Parent or Primary Caregiver has cancer, or
- Bereaved - Their Sibling or Parent has died from cancer

Programs and activities have both a recreational focus and a support focus.

Must be Members of Canteen to access programs. Membership is free.

We provide support to patients & carers of thyroid cancer. We meet four times a year and have regular email contact. We do not provide treatment or advice of treatment.
