A 12 bed palliative care unit provides symptom control, respite care and terminal care. The Unit liaises closely with the palliative care consultant, the community provider (Mercy Western Palliative Care) and the multidisciplinary team who work together to provide optimal care to each patient, their family and friends.

The service accepts referrals from all local government areas.

Werribee Mercy Hospital

A ten bed inpatient palliative care unit providing multidisciplinary care to patients with a progressive, life-threatening illness. Patients are admitted for symptom control, terminal care and respite care. The multidisciplinary team includes a social worker, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and pastoral care worker.
