The Shepherd Centre is a registered children's charity that helps children with hearing loss learn to listen and speak;

Our Early Intervention Program encompasses a range of services delivered by a team of paediatric specialists in audiology, speech pathology and child and family counselling aimed to give each child the best possible start in life;

We offer six locations across NSW and the ACT plus region outreach, videoconference and online programs.

The Shepherd Centre for Deaf Children - Newtown

Service offers:  Assessment, diagnosis and treatment for problems with communication and swallowing problems. Education and counselling to family and carers to facilitate partnerships in care for individuals. Works with people who have a tracheostomy – to support communication and promote safe swallowing. Works with people who are going to have or have had a laryngectomy – to optimise communication, swallowing and breathing. Liaises with external providers as needed

Chris O'Brien Lifehouse

Providing efficient high quality assessment, management and education to adults and their families, for swallowing and communication disorders. These may include: Swallowing difficulties (dysphagia) Language or communication difficulties - including listening, speaking, reading and writing Speech difficulties - including slurred speech Changes to voice - including vocal nodules 

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital-Speech Therapy- Voice Outpatients (Qe11)

This clinic is for people living in the community or a low level residential care facility with complex medical care issues and aged clients with age related
diseases who will benefit from Speech Pathology. Must be able to attend Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for assessment/ therapy.
