This is an 18 bed unit with four birthing suites.  The Ward averages over 700 births per year, making it the busiest midwifery unit outside the metropolitan area. Care is provided on a shared care basis by an obstetrician/gynaecologist, general practitioners, paediatricians and specialist midwifery staff.
