Amorism

Anita is an accredited social worker specialising in working with children from 3 to 18, purposefully using play, games, and creative arts therapeutically to promote growth, early intervention and healing. Also provides therapeutic support to parents and families adjusting to a disability diagnosis or feeling overwhelmed by their child’s struggles.

Side by Side Therapy

An all ages, neuro-affirming counselling, therapy and psychosocial support service. Current therapists are AASW accredited mental health social worker Celeste Raymond and AASW accredited social worker Rachel Fenn. Medicare and private health rebates apply for referrals through GP with MHTP. Therapies provided include EMDR, CBT, DBT, IPT, play based therapy, Marte Meo. Specialist expertise in navigating complex psychosocial issues such as developmental trauma, family violence, and disability.

Community Counselling and Care

The aim of the Social Worker is to assist people improve their quality of life. At some point, everyone is faced with a stressful, life-changing event in their life and for some people assistance from a Social Worker helps them deal with issues.

Social Workers assist people by listening non-judgementally, being understanding and supportive of a person's needs, providing information which is useful and relevant and by being respectful of a person's right to confidentiality and privacy.

Who can use this service and how are people referred?
Individuals, couples, families and groups within the West Wimmera Shire are free to access this service. Assistance is provided to people of any age, from any background, with any issue.

Anyone is able to refer themselves to the Social Worker by contacting EDMH Reception on 03 5585 9800. Referrals are also made by General Practitioners, Health Workers, Schools, Police, members of the community, family and friends.

All personal and family information will be treated with respect and confidentiality. If you need to be referred to another organisation, information about you will only be passed on with your Consent

The Social Worker is also able to provide a home visiting appointment if preferred.
