The Victorian Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) is a major public health initiative to minimise the spread of blood borne viruses HIV/AIDS and hepatitis B and C among injecting drug users and to the wider community.

Sunraysia Community Health Services

Mildura Health Services provides a FREE sharps disposal service for members of the community.

Sharps containers can be collected from the Health department during opening hours. When full the containers should be returned to the Health department.

The containers are collected from the Health department or Ouyen service centre and are disposed of by Elwaste Medical.

Mildura Health Services Providers also have syringe disposal units installed in toilet blocks around the municipality.

Needle Syringe Program provides free needles, swabs and syringes for injecting drug use, as well as providing a return facility for the safe disposal of used syringes and needles.  This public health program has been effective in reducing blood borne diseases in our community.  Initial contact through Reception Monday to Friday.
