Occupational Therapy aims to assist people to maximise safety, independance and well being in their everyday activities in the home, employment and community.  This service is primarily a home based service.

Services include: 

-- Home safety assessments

-- equipment prescription

-- home modification recommendations

-- hand therapy

-- health promotion, 

-- falls prevention education

-- personal energy conservation 

-- back care and safe living techniques.  


Hours  Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5.00 pm,  by appointment.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy provides a services to the hospital and community, in home safety, covering safe discharge and home modifications.

The aim of Occuptional Therapy is to minimise any intervention and maximise independence by timely advise and treatment or modification for disability.

Hand therapy for Pre-Op and Post-Op patients is available for those referred, including splinting.

Community Allied Health services can be accessed via a referral from the patient's own Doctor.  The aim of Occupational Therapy is to restore and maintain function

MALDON HOSPITAL

Occupational Therapy aims to increase independence in everyday tasks (activities of daily living) e.g. dressing, grooming, eating, drinking, personal hygiene, toileting, domestic tasks, shopping, cooking, use of transport and communication devices etc. It also aims to create safe home, community and work environments and support people in return to activities.  Occupational therapy provides home assessment, equipment prescription and individual therapy and group therapy sessions.

Provides home safety assessments, equipment prescription, home modification recommendations, and falls prevention education to assist people to be able to carry out their daily living tasks and maintain independence.  The service is available weekly Thursday and Friday, and fortnightly Wednesday, by appointment.
