The Baringhup Social Afternoon is a centre-based 'HACC' [Home and Community Care] funded program which supports frail aged and younger people with disabilities, or their carers by:

-- preventing isolation;

-- offering company and friendship to frail aged or younger people with disabilities; and 

-- supporting carers through a day respite option. 


HACC programs aim to assist clients to remain independent in their own home for as long as they desire and are able to, or to be available to provide respite to carers who may be caring for someone at home.

Time: Wednesdays, 1.30pm (not held in the school holidays)

MALDON HOSPITAL

Activity groups are for people who want to make friends, enjoy trips, outings and visits or get some time out.  All activity groups have qualified and experienced staff on hand to help. The groups are for people aged 65+ or 50+ if Aboriginal or/and Torres Strait Islander. Weekly centre-based respite is also available for people who care for someone at home. The Salvation Army - Castlemaine

These information sessions have regular guest speakers, covering all aspects of diabetes and its management. The group provides a forum for self-help and social support in self managing your diabetes. 
Meetings are held at Castlemaine District Community Health, on the first Thursday of every month, between 10 -11am.

Resources and information on Meniers disease, a rare and debilitating ear disease - a disorder of the inner ear that causes episodes of vertigo, tinnitus, a feeling of fullness or pressure in the ear and fluctuating hearing loss.

Meetings are every couple of months. Best thing is for people to check website for meeting dates.

Meniere's Support Group - Bendigo and Region

Service is free and confidential, offering support and practical assistance. The Family Liaison Service works with young people and their families to offer support, information and referral to other specialist services where necessary in a safe and confidential environment. Can provide information about health, education, and family issues, as well as brief counselling or family mediation. 

CENTRAL GOLDFIELDS SHIRE COUNCIL

The aim of this service is:   To provide a social day out with a group of people with similar interests who can not otherwise do the social activity by themselves. To provide regular planned programs of activities, which enhance the skills required for daily living and providing physical, intellectual, emotional and social stimulation.
