Noah's Ark is a not-for-profit community organisation based in Victoria and the ACT, Australia. We offer a range of services and programs that support families who have a child (aged 0-8) with a disability or additional needs.
At Noah's Ark we work closely with children with a disability, their families and the services they participate in. We recognise that parents are experts on their own child and we provide them with information and support that enables them to make informed decisions.
We are Victoria's largest provider of early childhood services and the Inclusion and Professional Support Program (IPSP). We employ more than 280 staff, delivering services to more than 1,900 families and 3,000 child care centres and kindergartens across metropolitan and regional Victoria. In 2015, we opened a branch in the ACT.

Noah's Ark - Maidstone

Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECIS) are provided by Noah's Ark to families of children from birth to school age with a developmental delay or disability.
Children are eligible for an Early Childhood Intervention service if:
* They have a developmental delay in any of the following areas; intellectual, communication, physical, sensory, social or emotional development and
* The developmental delay results in significant difficulties in one or more of the following areas of activity: self care, understanding others and/or letting others know what they need or feel, emotional or physical development.
Services we offer are:
* Home visits to the family
* Visits to Kindergarten and Child Care
* Groups at Noah's Ark or in the community
* Opportunities to meet with other parents
* Specialist advice as requested by the family
* Loan of specialist toys or equipment to assist the child's development
*Activities to help the child's development
* Individual sessions
* Parent education and information on parent programs in the community

%23ECIS%23, Early childhood intervention services promote development and learning for children, from birth to school entry with a disability or developmental delay, and their families whose support needs are additional to those usually available through universal services.  A multi-disciplinary team provides information, offers assessment of child and family needs, individual and group intervention, family support, service coordination and inclusion support.  Services aim to provide parents, families and carers with the knowledge, skills and support to meet the needs of their child and to optimise the child's development and ability to participate in family and community life.

Everyday Independence - Keilor East

The Learning Difficulties Clinic offers schools and families in the Western Region a multi-disciplinary approach to the assessment of learning problems. Eligible children must be in Grades 1-5 and present with a problem in learning to read/spell and/or do maths that cannot easily be explained by lack of intellectual ability and/or socio-educational opportunities.
The team comprises a Paediatrician, Audiologist, Social Worker, Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist and Neuropsychologist. Assessments are conducted over a period of two days at the Sunshine Hospital.

Referral Process:
Children must first be assessed by a Paediatrician for the appropriateness of the referral, and to exclude any other medical conditions. The child's parents and teacher will also need to complete a questionnaire. 

Once the questionnaire and the referral are received, the referral is presented at a Clinic Intake meeting where a decision is made regarding the child's suitability for inclusion into the program. Once accepted into the service, there is generally a 3 month waiting period until the first assessment.
