It was established to raise awareness of need, provide connection and enable a collective voice for members on the issues important to them. Also facilitates a platform for raising issues to government that impact the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with a disability, their families and carers. Membership is free.

Holds condition-specific self management courses for Rheumatoid and Inflammatory Arthritis, and for Osteoarthritis of the Knee. 

These courses are held over six weeks and are run by health professionals. Sessions run for two to two and a half hours per week, with plenty of breaks.
