Mental Health Carers Australia is the only national advocacy group solely concerned with the well-being and promotion of the needs of mental health carers. Member organisations have been providing information and support to carers across Australia for over 40 years. The organisation advocates on behalf of mental health carers, exploring and strengthening the mental health caring role, developing knowledge, improving skills and offering support to reduce isolation and enhance the caring journey.

We provide free, confidential telephone support on our national Helpline, as well as peer support for fathers, mothers and their families through our Peer Support Groups.

Our frontline services include our Suicide Helpline and our Peer Support Groups - Dads in Distress (DIDS) and Mums in Distress (MIDS).
