Music therapy is the planned and creative use of music to attain and maintain health and wellbeing. People of any age or ability may benefit from music therapy regardless of their musical skill or background.  Inpatient music therapy services are currently available at Monash Children's Clayton and at Monash Children's Casey in Newborn Services. Children and their families may be referred to the music therapy service by any member of the multi-disciplinary care team.

Registered Music Therapists are university trained to a Masters degree level. Music Therapy is the specific use of musical engagement to facilitate improvement of health, functioning and wellbeing. Registered Music Therapists support people of any age and ability regardless of musical skill.
