The Victorian Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) is a major public health initiative aiming to minimise the spread of blood borne viruses, HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B and C among injecting drug users and to the wider community.
As a secondary NSP provider we can provide; needles and syringes, sharps, disposal containers, sterile swabs, condoms and options for the appropriate disposal of used injecting equipment.

Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health

The confidential Needle and Syringe Program offers free injecting equipment (syringes, needles, swabs, containers) and safe retrieval of used equipment. 

Prepared packs (with 5 syringes) are available at reception.
The Community Health Nurse is delivering Safer Behaviour messages and is available for education or support in the community (i.e. retrieval of equipment).

Melton Health

Offers free injecting equipment (syringes, needles, swabs, containers) and safe retrieval of used equipment.  Prepared packs are available at the front desks, by the administration staff.

Melton Health & Community Services

Djerriwarrh Health Services - Bacchus Marsh

Provides containers in public places for the safe disposal of syringes. When full, the containers can be returned to customer service centre and a new container collected.  Council staff are also available to collect and remove needles or syringes that are seen in public places in the Shire. Please notify the Council with specific location details.
