The Western Health Intensive Care Unit has been situated at the Footscray campus of Western Health since July 2002.  

The Western Health Intensive Care Unit is a 14-bed adult unit, delivering best practice across a wide variety of adult surgical and adult medical areas. The unit has specialist Intensive Care medical coverage, supported by registrars and residents, for the entire 24-hour period.  

Specialist Critical Care nurses attend to patient care on a 24 hourly basis.  The patient to nurse ratio in ICU is 1:1 and in high dependency is 1:2.

This service reviews patients who may require further intervention in the form of coronary angiography and /or angioplasty with or without stenting. 
This is a Medicare funded clinic.
