The Royal Society for the Blind - ACT

Services include: The Royal Society for the Blind ACT provides a wide range of rehabilitation and support services that assist people in the ACT who are blind or have low vision, to manage the effects of blindness in their daily lives.

Lisa is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, providing counselling for adults and young people, individuals and couples in: 
•	management of anxiety and depression;
•	relationships and well-being; 
•	sex therapy and sexual well-being; 
•	recovery from abuse and trauma; 
•	management of sexually problematic behaviours; and 
•	grief and loss. 

Lisa works within a person-centred strengths-based, LGBTI friendly framework.

Social Workers can offer counselling around crises or reactions to illness or treatment. They may also help coordinate community services to help you upon discharge. Social Workers are available to assist if you are experiencing anxiety, grief, relationship problems or need help with accommodation and income issues. If within the hospital, you can ask the ward staff to contact a Social Worker or the public may phone directly to the Social Work Department during business hours on the number provided.  This service is available afterhours until 9.30pm at night via the Canberra Hospital Switchboard on 6244 2222.

Canberra Hospital - Social Work Department

Services include: Social Workers can offer counselling around crises or reactions to illness or treatment. They may also help coordinate community services to help you upon discharge from hospital. Social Workers are available to assist if you are experiencing anxiety, grief, relationship problems or needing help with accommodation and income issues.

Canberra Health Services provides community health based social work counselling and support service. This is an appointment-based social work service, rather than a crisis service. Please see our website for more information.

Community Care Social Work - Belconnen

I have worked with women and families since the 1980's.  I have provided assessment and therapeutic role with children and their families/carers who have experienced violence, abuse, neglect and trauma.

Children's Counselling ACT

Services include: Working with children and adults to harness their strengths and resilience to overcome trauma work through major change or grief and value themselves.

Providing Carer Gateways services and free advice to all ACT and Southern NSW carers.  Fees may apply for some services depending on individual carer circumstances

Carers ACT

Services include: Carers provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have a disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness or who are frail-aged.

Community Care Social Work

Services include: ACT Health offer social work and support for clients who may be adjusting to recent medical diagnosis, discharge from hospital, living with chronic health conditions, or grieving the loss of a spouse or family member due to a medical condition. Multi-disciplinary wellness group work services are also offered throughout the year. Services are delivered from community health centres.
