Welcome to S-Anon!  Let us assure you that no matter what feelings you may be having right now, other members of S-Anon have felt similar emotions.  Meetings are a vital part of the S-Anon program, providing us with the opportunity to identify and confirm common problems and to hear the experience, strength and hope of others.

S-Anon Australia

A program supporting young people, up to 25 years old who care for a family member experiencing a physical or intellectual disability, mental health issues, alcohol and other drug related issues and/or chronic illness. Supports young carers through family case management, personalised support/advice, advocacy, organising recreational activities, information and educational support and skills development.

Peer support groups which promote social networks through regular group sessions.

The Royal Society for the Blind - ACT

Specialities: Diabetes Education and/or Dietitian, type 1 and 2 diabetes. Face to face, telehealth and zoom consultations available.  Consultations bulk billed (no cost to patient) when referred from doctor with a Medicare Chronic disease individual allied health services plan under a team care arrangement. Private appointments also available, fees apply. Private health rebates may apply depending on the level of cover. Check with the individuals health fund. 

Diabetes NSW & ACT

Our Pastoral Care Practitioners come from a variety of belief groups and religious backgrounds and are a combination of staff and trained volunteers available to offer emotional and spiritual support to patients, families, carers and staff throughout the Canberra Hospital.

Canberra Hospital - Spiritual Support Services

This is a peer based group that is auspiced and managed by the AIDS Action Council. Peer based activities and social support for people affected by HIV. Services include weekly lunches, peer support network dinners and other special events. A newsletter is developed and circulated at request. A women's group meets throughout the year, especially at Christmas time and during other holidays or special events.
