The Assessment, Referral and Counselling team speak with clients referred for assistance with recovery from substance misuse. The team assesses clients' needs and develops a management plan which includes referral to an appropriate program or external service.  Clients who are not ready to undertake stabilisation are provided with advice, support and referral to services, which can assist with accommodation, legal, welfare, employment, health, fitness, family relationship, and education issues.

Centacare is delighted to announce a new and unique program which targets parents/ carers who are misusing Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD). In addition to a range of child focused interventions, the service will utilise a 12 module in-home program (Parents under Pressure) to increase parenting capacity, build healthy relationships with their children and provide safe family environments. They will work intensively with the families in the early stages and then reduce support as the parents develop and sustain their ability to parent effectively. There is capacity for parents to leave and re-enter the Program depending on their involvement with other services including AOD services. Family members can self refer or be referred by external services.

Centacare

The CAFSS program is a free, confidential service that offers support, assessment, brief intervention and referral to individuals who have personal problems with alcohol or other drug (AOD) use or who are coping with someone elses use of alcohol or other drugs.

CAFSS is a mobile service, offering the option of office visits or home visitation to clients in the southern and northern suburbs of Adelaide. Clients are individuals who aim to address alcohol or illicit drug issues in their own lives or significant others of people with AOD problems. The minimum age of clients is 16 years with no upper age limit.

Services are provided by professional staff and trained volunteers. A program coordinator, project officer and support worker with backgrounds in psychology, primary health care and social work staff the program. 

Volunteers are from a variety of backgrounds, some holding qualifications in relevant fields and others being members of the community with a strong desire to provide assistance to others.

Drug Arm SA

Aboriginal Men's Drug Intervention Program works with male Aboriginal drug users within the Adelaide inner city. The program looks at all aspects of the client's life and works together with them to draw up a plan for moving forward from dependency. Also assists homeless Aboriginal men to find accommodation.
