Provides both a clinical and diagnostic service for patients with blood cancers and blood disorders and is supported by a well established Clinical Trials Unit that participates in both national and international cancer research. The department provides a range of both inpatient and outpatient treatment including Autologous Stem Cell Transplant, Blood Transfusion Support, Immunotherapy and Chemotherapy for Leukaemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma, and other Bone Marrow failure syndromes.

Dr Downe provides assistance with haematologic problems including anaemia,  other blood count abnormalities,  bleeding and clotting disorders,  thalassaemia and haemoglobinopathies,  elevated ferritin levels,  lymphadenopathy and splenomegaly, monoclonal gammopathy,  myeloma,  lymphoma and chronic leukaemias.
