Little Voices

the aim of the Early intervention research program:
To identify children with autism as early as possible, preferably before the age of two. For these children to start immediate intensive early intervention with the Early intervention research program.
To help these children reach their full potential both academically and in each of the 3 areas associated with a diagnosis of autism: social, communication and stereotypical/ritualistic behaviours.

* To teach children to play, and to discover intrinsic enjoyment through play. To improve children's eye contact and general enjoyment of social activities and play with peers.

* To increase the children's ability to communicate verbally or through alternate means (PECS, sign).
To decrease and prevent stereotypical, repetitive and ritualistic behaviours that interfere with children's learning and daily living skills.

* To educate and therefore empower parents in the education of their children and decrease elevated stress levels.

Flinders Early Intervention Research Program

OTeam has a pre-school and primary school focus. We specialise in working with children 0-12 years. We differ from traditional therapy by working with a child in their natural environments, which offers families a flexible and accessible service as well as being able to forge links with key caregivers in the child's life.

I can provide information about resources available to individuals and families, both within the health system and in their local community. I particularly specialise in helping families navigate the system whilst seeking an Autism Spectrum diagnosis for their child and finding services to support them once they have received a diagnosis. I am also able to assist families with applying for National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding and in the process of applying to become an NDIS provider.
