Aboriginal Health Unit.

The Aboriginal Health Team assists and supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, their families and escorts during their stay at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. They can also help patients and their family to understand the hospital processes and procedures.  The Aboriginal Health Team works across the hospital and can assist inpatients and outpatients.

Medical services include antenatal and postnatal care, children's, women's and men's health, immunisation and chronic disease management. Other clinic services include audiologist, podiatrist, paediatric registrar, psychiatrist, psychologist and gastroenterologist or referrals to dental and aboriginal and maternal infant care services.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services include nutrition, diabetes, men's and women's health, referrals to appropriate services e.g. SADS, mental health, Aboriginal Kinship Program (drug and alcohol misuse), grief and loss, drop in, client and Elder support, Aboriginal Maternal Infant care: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples Health Team actively supports local Aboriginal people to work towards improving their health and the health of their community.
