The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Program delivers quality primary health care services in consultation, negotiation and collaboration with community members and health care providers, to ensure that Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples enjoy a level of health equal to the majority of the community. The Program is comprised of a small multi-disciplinary team which supports three (3) service units: General Health Unit (GHU), Hearing Health Unit (HHU), & Outreach Program.

Townsville Child Youth and Family Health Service - Kirwan Campus

Walk-ins available 8am-9:30am weekdays for urgent matters.

Provides health services or health programs directly to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people regardless of whether the person is employed in a generalist or specialist position.

Townsville Aboriginal and Islander Health Services - Medical Clinic

Provides health services or health programs directly to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people regardless of whether the person is employed in a generalist or specialist position.

Townsville Sexual Health Clinic

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Service acts as a cultural link between health professionals and Indigenous patients and their families. The Liaison Officer assists in breaking down any perceived barriers of communication so that Indigenous patients and/or their families have a better understanding of their hospitalisation and treatment.

Provides health services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population.
