The Statewide Infant Screening - Hearing (SWISH) service screens all babies born in New South Wales to identify significant permanent hearing loss as early as possible. Within WSLHD, the service is provided across all public maternity hospitals and includes an outreach service to Westmead Private Hospital and Norwest Private Hospital, as well as The Children's Hospital at Westmead. Hearing screening is performed by trained screeners using specialised equipment before discharge from hospital. Out
