This clinic provides
• contraceptive advice, including fitting IUCDs, insertion and removal of Implanon
• investigation for subfertility
• assistance for women with an unplanned pregnancy
Women seeking termination of pregnancy are required to first contact the Pregnancy Advisory Service (PAS) on 9344 2259 / 2877. Women will receive the offer of phone counselling and information to assist them with their request. A gynaecological assessment prior to day surgery will then be arranged. Women's Health counsellors are available through Sunshine Hospital Women's Allied Health Department on 8345 1430 for face to face counselling when this is required.
Second trimester terminations are only available at Sunshine Hospital for management of major fetal abnormalities, or in the presence of a serious maternal medical condition. Women enquiring about pregnancy termination after 12 weeks gestation should be referred directly to the Royal Women's Hospital.
