Youth 180 works with young people who have been in care and have had many placement breakdowns. Youth 180 stabilises young people in supported accommodation, and with mentors, the young person works toward independent living. They learn independent and daily living skills (cooking and cleaning, etc), self care including health, social development, work and study skills, money management, housing, transport and community resources. Youth 180 is for young people, male or female aged 14-18, and who are ready to work with a team to reach set goals, motivated to work towards independence: WaitingListDetails Support is tailored to the individual, and includes people like mentors, social workers and youth workers. An application for housing is made to Housing SA on behalf of the young person before their 18th birthday, when they are in transition to independent living. Referral is through Families SA.
