Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) ? Exercise rehabilitation for those with chronic disease, musculoskeletal injury and health populations. Primary role in prevention of chronic disease or management for those who have developed a chronic disease by creating a safe and effective exercise routine and working with the individual to create behaviour change to improve health.
Current evidence supports physical activity and exercise as an integral treatment for both primary and secondary prevention and the treatment of chronic disease. AEPs play an important role as physical activity and exercise specialists within health care.
Rebates are available to those referred under either: Medicare, Department of Veterans? Affairs (DVA), WorkSafe and TAC with no gap fee.
Individuals are also available to attract private health fund rebates from a number of private health insurers.
