The Victorian Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) is a major public health initiative to minimise the spread of blood borne viruses HIV/AIDS and hepatitis B and C among injecting drug users and to the wider community.
OBJECTIVES
• To provide a point of contact for IV drug users
• To minimise the spread of HIV and other blood borne viruses in the community
• To provide access to sterile injecting equipment
• To provide safe disposal options, education and condoms
• To provide counselling care and appropriate referral

• Fit packs containing sharps containers, sterile syringes & swabs
• Condoms
• Educational brochures and pamphlets
• Safe disposal outlet
• Contact point for referral
