Hospital in the Home
Hospital in the Home [HITH] provides selected patients, hospital services in the home environment. It is the same as being a patient in hospital only you receive your care at home. You are a patient of the hospital while on the program.
There is no charge for HITH; it is the same as being a public patient in hospital.

How do I know if I can be treated in the HITH program?
Prior to admission to the HITH program, you must be assessed by a HITH nurse to ensure you meet program entry requirements. These are:
-- You are a public, Department of Veterans Affairs, Transport Accident Commission or WorkCover patient.
-- You have a carer (family or friend) willing to assist you while you are on the HITH program.
-- You live within the HITH catchment area
-- There is a telephone that is connected and in working order at your nominated residence.
-- You meet the medical criteria as assessed by the Doctor
