SERVICES PROVIDED
Diagnostic Haematology
Full diagnostic haematology services are provided including morphology, bone marrow biopsies, flow cytometry, immunology, red cell serology, investigation of immune and non-immune haemolysis, coagulation and thrombotic disorders, including molecular screening investigation of haemoglobinopathy. The service also provides: telephone advice, an in-patient referral service specialising in non-malignant haematology especially haemostasis and thrombosis.
Chemical Pathology
Full diagnostic biochemical services are provided. Glucose tolerance tests and full lipid profiles require fasting from 10pm the previous night. Some drug assays need particular timing in relation to dosing: please consult the laboratory.
Microbiology
The service is available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
Histopathology
Histopathology service - weekdays 8.30am – 5.30pm
Frozen sections must be booked 48 hours prior to procedure. Please book via 8345 6270.
Anatomical Pathology
Cytopathology service - week days 8.30am – 5.30pm
Fine needle aspiration bookings 8345 6270
Autopsy service – weekdays 8.30am – 5.30pm
