Speech Therapy for Children (Public)
DESCRIPTION
Assessment and therapy service for pre-school children with disorders of speech, language, stuttering, hearing and voice or any combination of these . Usually on site, one to one, but some school/kinder/home visits are offered. Groups are also offered in conjunction with Maternal and Child Health Nurses and other children's service providers at Inner East.
Group Programs offered include:
• Parent-Child Mother Goose - is a parent and child rhyme, song and storytelling group aimed at increasing the interaction between parents and their 0-2 year old children. This group is run by the Maternal and Child Health Service within Boorondara and supported by IECHS.
• Busy Bodies – A play based, parent training group therapy program for children aged 2-3 years with play, motor and communication delays.
• School Readiness – A group therapy program for children who have attended the service for Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy to facilitate transition to school.
ELIGIBILITY
Pre-school children only.
Priority is given to families whose parents live, work or study or their children attend preschool or child care in the City of Boroondara.

COST
No fee for Low Income or Health Care Card Holders
$14 Medium Income
$100 High Income
Income status is determined at the time that your initial appointment is made.
Group fees also vary from no fee to $100

Appointments are available on:
Mondays to Fridays at our Ashburton site
Tuesday and Thursday at our Hawthorn site
