Occupational Therapy is a health and rehabilitation service that assists people of all ages achieve independence in their daily lives. The service aims to promote people's optimum level of independence and safety in personal, domestic and community activities of daily living through:
-- Assessment of ability to perform activities of daily living and recommendations to help improve safety and independence.
-- Home based assessments, education and advice.
-- Home modifications eg. Grabrail installation.
-- Equipment prescription and loan.
-- Hand therapy to improve/maintain hand function.
-- Splinting.
-- Rehabilitation.
-- Education Groups such as Cardiac Rehabilitation & Pulmonary Rehabilitation.Various items of equipmet are available for hire including: Shower stools/chairs and bathboards, over-toilet frames, bed sticks, bedside commodes, orthopaedic chairs, pic-up sticks and wheelchairs.
Occupational Therapy is located at the Community Centre.
Fees
Fees for Occupational Therapy $8 pensioners and healthcare card holders, $15 for non cardholders and nil for DVA card holders, TAC and Workcover claimants.
Loan fees apply for equipment hire.
