The Haematology Department at Concord Cancer Centre provides both a clinical and diagnostic service for patients with blood cancers and blood disorders and is supported by a well established Clinical Trials Unit that participates in both national and international cancer research. The department provides a range of both inpatient and outpatient treatment including Autologous Stem Cell Transplant, Blood Transfusion Support, Immunotherapy and Chemotherapy for Leukaemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma, and other Bone Marrow failure syndromes. It also offers highly specialised procedures known as Apheresis including Plasmapheresis, Red Cell Exchange, Stem Cell collection and Stem Cell Transplantation in an outpatient setting. The department is also one of two Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) licensed facilities for the collection of stem cells in NSW. With a primary focus on multidisciplinary care, the department works with a collaborative framework to provide individualised and holistic care for each patient.
