Additional Information: A multidisciplinary team of medical and radiation oncologists, nurses and allied health professionals providing specialist care in the treatment of cancer. This team has regular multidisciplinary care team meetings where medical practitioners and nurses present patient cases for multidisciplinary discussion of treatment options. Current and new patient management is discussed at this meeting. General practitioners and hospital medical staff may present patients for discussion or provide information to the rural cancer nurse coordinator or VMO general practitioner to present on their behalf. A clinic is also linked to the multidisciplinary team. This clinic provides consultations with medical oncologists and radiation oncologists from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and an oncology VMO general practitioner for assessment and treatment of people with a cancer diagnosis. Patients are referred by their medical practitioner, triaged, an appropriate appointment is made and the patient advised by phone and letter. Referrals should be faxed to the clinic - (02) 6885 8631.
