Milliya Rumurra is a non-government residential centre in Broome that provides treatment and rehabilitation to Aboriginal people wishing to address their drug and alcohol use.
Services provided
There are five programs:
• Rehabilitation Program
We have 2 houses and 18 Single and double bed Units, with a min stay of 12 weeks which can be extended. This program seeks to address the effects of alcohol and drugs upon the individual, family and community.
• Day Program
Clients can attend educational day programs twice per week, Tuesday and Thursday Morning.
• Continued Care
Counselling and support service to clients post-rehabilitation. This is a family based program.
• CHMR Outreach
A partnership between Milliya Rumurra and Cyrenian House to provide community based AOD interventions to communities within the West Kimberley region focusing on improving access, prevention and early intervention and community capacity building.
• Sobering Up Shelter
Providing a culturally safe, care orientated environment for people to sober up.
Target Groups
Individuals, Families and Communities seeking to address alcohol and other drug issues. Indigenous focus.
All programs can be accessed by Non – Indigenous community members.
Entry Requirements
Assessment for the program is offered in person, with our Continued Care or CHMR Outreach team if residing within the West Kimberley Region or via telephone with one of our AOD Case Managers. Agencies may contact our office for an Admission Information Package.
