Additional Information: Kumangka provides a drug and alcohol diversion service to Aboriginal youth to combat drug and alcohol issues. Through counselling, Kumangka monitors the youth, as well as monitoring through the police and other services. Kumangka provides information (e.g. pamphlets and fliers) on drug and alcohol issues. Kumangka also can escort clients to hospital, as well as refer and report to appropriate agencies and services.: EntryProcedures Referral can come through a number of ways including police who have obtained/arrested the youth on drug charges. Kumangka can be the step between the police arrest and court for the youth. Families. Kumangka can provide conflict resolution between youth and parents.

Additional Information: Kumangka's Reconnect' services are specifically catered for Aboriginal youth who are homeless, or those who are at risk of becoming homeless. This free service is provided throughout metropolitan Adelaide to assist young people aged 12-18 and their families. See our website links for further information available: EntryProcedures Reconnect staff work with both young people and their parents/guardians, or each individually. Reconnect staff listen to all individual circumstances and provide services that are culturally appropriate and suitable to your needs. Additional Information: Kumangka's Street Youth team assist underage Aboriginal youth in the city on Friday and Saturday nights. We transport kids out of the city who are at risk of getting into trouble in town, or cannot get home (by consent of youth). Encourage youth around the city to be safe and to head back home. Walk the youths to their house doors and talk to parents if the youth is under the age of 14. Discuss with youth about their time management skills (so that they don't miss the train or bus again).: EntryProcedures Kumangka Aboriginal Youth Service provides a holistic service to at risk Aboriginal young people between the ages of 12 - 25 whom frequent the inner city area of Adelaide.
